More fun with TES4 : Oblivion. See previous for class details.
09:30 <solios> I can do spellcraft now
09:30 <solios> I made Pants Of Looting
09:30 <solios> (put strongest Feather I could on greaves)
09:30 <solios> I also made min duration on-self "trainer" spells because fucking hell, Restoration just Does Not Rise
09:38 <solios> oh, yeah.
09:39 <solios> main reason I finally figured out the speech game is the last guild quest I did
09:39 <solios> jerkass with a staff hated the shit out of me even with Powerful charm magic (scrolls given by the questgiver, better than what I had)
09:39 <solios> wiki said he had to have a disposition of 70. o_o
09:40 <solios> I managed to game him from 30 to 55-ish and the spell toook it the rest of the way
10:57 <solios> also, I think I'm going to Underlevel or whatever it's called in oblivion
10:57 <solios> when I was 1-4 I was killing shit Superfast.
10:58 <solios> now to get that same degree of pwnage I have to drop the difficulty slider
10:58 <solios> "shit levels with you" means if I try to kill a timber wolf with a mace, I die. :P
10:59 <solios> it also means I got a dwarven shield off a fucking GOBLIN.
11:00 <xeno> if i were you i would hold off on your next level up, and just explore some more; maybe find some betterer gear, and get better at hitting things
11:00 <solios> I'm level 10
11:01 <xeno> you can, Technically, beat the game without ever leveling at all
11:01 <solios> and I can't survive dungeons without my weight in potions or a difficulty drop
11:01 <solios> yeah
11:01 <xeno> but some of the enemies aren't really leveled and/or are Intentionally Hard
11:01 <solios> like ZOMBIES? :P
11:01 <xeno> yes
11:01 <solios> fuck, if I so much as SEE a zombie I drop the slider
11:01 <solios> they were bullshit when I wasn't having trouble with anything else, they're Godlike now
11:02 <solios> otoh my Summon Zombie fucked some shit up nicely. :>
11:02 <solios> also at a point where I have 50+ Destruction and can't use any of the spells that unlocks because I don't have enough MP
11:03 <solios> I pondered making an enchanted armor set to boost magic but went with Float and made $stuff Of Looting so I can actually carry
11:03 <solios> full set of dwarven gear is ridiconculous for weight
11:03 <solios> base travel kit (armor, one weapon, a few potions, everything else stored in the clam*) is 137 out of a 150 carry
11:04 <solios> which I can fortunately boost to 227 with enchanted gear and sthpells
11:05 <solios> thinking I need to shift training from Whatever (typically Will/End/Int) to Will/End/Str
11:05 <solios> as iirc Str+ increases carry _and_ weapon damage
11:05 <solios> my STR is no
11:05 <xeno> um
11:05 <xeno> i'm almost certain you get penalties for magicking in armor
11:05 <solios> you do
11:05 <xeno> i'll check later
11:05 <xeno> right now, i have to go thing
11:05 <solios> I'm magicking at 92%
11:06 <solios> it used to be 80%
11:06 <solios> I think the armor skills amelerioate it to some extent
11:06 <solios> 8% would mean a current bandit-type baddy would take 5 spell-blasts to kill instead of 6
* There's a couple of sets of Clams right outside the exit from the Imperial Sewers. I've been using them as a stash, a la vending machines or trash cans in Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas. I checked the wiki for information about safe stash containers and my options were basically use the clam, buy the right house, or Don't Horde. As that last bit isn't happening at all ever and the clam doesn't cost any money (and is right there at the start of the game), the clam won.
